About This Item

Barnes & Noble, New York, 1998. Third Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Very Good. this revised edition was 1st published in 1952, and has been brought up to date and is a 1st impression. In addition to all of the chapters being revised, so is the bibliography by Roger Collins. In this book the author refutes the notion that the barbarians who destroyed the Western Roman Empire felt nothing but scorn for Roman culture. He demonstrates that from the time of the conquests until the end of the dark ages, the barbarians tended to admire and emulate the Romans and even imagine that they were Romans themselves. there is on the bottom right of the dustjacket front panel a small scuff and remains of sticky tape from the price sticker. No other damage, and no annotations. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: History; Europe; Ancient (BC); ISBN: 0760708312. ISBN/EAN: 9780760708316. Inventory No: 0266994. . 9780760708316
