About This Item

Banjaluka: Novinsko preduzece GLAS, (1970). Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. F. First Edition. Square quarto, oatmeal buckram covered boards with gilt spine title and cover decoration. Unpaginated (approx. 200pp.) A history and photographic tour of the people, churches, monuments, architecture and cultural artifacts of the people of Banjaluka. Much in the news of the Balkan strife this photographic montage (accompanied by text, poems and songs) demonstrates that this city of ancient culture did not begin to suffer and struggle only in the 1990s. Very generously illustrated throughout with black and white photographs and a number of color reproductions of churches, monuments, historic buildings, art, religious celebrations, folk costume etc, etc. A very striking work. A very tight, clean, fresh and unmarked volume in a crisp, bright black and white photo-illustrated dust jacket with one short closed edge tear at top of front gutter, else fine. Fine in near fine dust jacket. Scarce..
