Chatto & Windus, London, 1956. First Edition. Hardcover (Photographic). Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Photographic. List of illustrations and foreword by Natalie de Valois. The text is ill is rated with numerous photographs of the Sadler's Wells ballet company in actual performance, and rehearsal. Photographic boards with blue and white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper, same illustration as for the underlying board, with blue and white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Black and white photograph of author to the rear dustwrapper panel. A photographic essay, by one of its members, of Sadler's Wells Ballet company  in rehearsal, behind-the-scenes and in actual performance of ballets. A little softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. A little age toning of the text block edges and to the pages. Offset tanning to the end pages. A previous owner?, Publisher? Has placed a small strip of blue coloured tape to the lower edge of the verso of the title page; the glue has bled through to the title page. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels and there is a little tearing to the top back strip edge. Some handling marks to the rear panel. There is a small tear to the lower left hand corner of the rear panel with a 4.5" associated tear. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Not paginated [46 pages],.
