Boston, 1861. unbound. 2 pages, each two-page spread measuring 8 x 10 inches, on "Lewis' New Gymnastics" letterhead, Boston, July 28, 1861. Written to F.B. Sanborn, chairman of the Mass. Board of State Charities. In this letter, Lewis stated that he was having trouble collecting "a small Indebtedness for apparatus owing me by a school in your village..." Two small smudges on the first page; natural folds. Very good condition.<br/><br/> Physician, proponent of homeopathy. He wrote numerous pamphlets and papers in which he deprecated the use of drugs and advocated physical exercise as a part of public education.<br/><br/>
