About This Item

New York: Hacker Art Books, 1982. Hardcover. VG (Ex-library, with spine label and few markings, otherwise quite nice.). White muslin, white decorated dust jacket with plastic sheathing, 232 pp., many BW illus., some color illus. Originally issued in 1961 in conjunction with an exhibition in Boston. A second edition was printed in 1972, with its reissuance in 1982. Serves to show "that during the last century the book has, in fact, become a major vehicle of artistic expression: that it is one in which the artist is not necessarily secondary to the author, but is often and rightly his equal." (p. 8) With an introduction by Philip Hofer and Catalogue by Eleanor M. Garvey.
