About This Item
Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1927. Octavo. 172 pages, index, illustrated. Moir made several new discoveries for example, the middle Paleolithic sites at Bramford Road and Constantine Road, Ipswich and undertook new investigations at important known localities, Hoxne, Brundon, High Lodge, and Foxhall Road being among the most famous. His assessments for pre-crag or tertiary man have largely been viewed as having taken a wrong turn. His 'artifacts' discounted as natural and probably the product of marine environments. In 1939 he delivered the prestigious Huxley memorial lecture at Imperial College, London. His genius mixed with his flawed assessments make him one of the most controversial figures in early English pre-Anglo-Saxon times. Bound in brown cloth, spine lettering gilt,, a near fine copy with no names or bookplates but with a green stamp 300 on bottom fore-edges and front pastedown. Very nice.
