About This Item

Birmingham, Alabama: The Notable Trials Library, 1989. [1989] First Special Edition Deep Green Hardcover, Quarter-Bound in Genuine Leather (spine stamped in 22-karat gold) by The Notable Trials Library. This is a Fine Binding with gilt designs and lettering, gilt on all edges, marbled endpapers, special premium text paper, satin bookmark, 380 pages. Several vintage photographs. For this edition, the famous Alan M. Dershowitz wrote the Introduction. Here is what is called "the murder of the century," carefully researched and written. The defense attorney was "the lawyer of the century," the second or third in Clarence Darrow's distinguished career. Two motion pictures were based on the famous trial; numerous books were written about it. The documentation account is the richest in documentation, containing substantial portions of the legal proceedings, psychiatric reports, and confessions. It contains the most remarkable legal arguments in the history of advocacy - Clarence Darrow's successful plea for the lives of his teenage clients. Other than some minor rubbing on the gilt edges, this Special Edition book is in New condition. Collector purchased book new and kept in a temperature-controlled room; there are no smoke smells from cigarettes or cigars. Historical, very collectible. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will be receiving when you order. We ship promptly. . 1/4-Leather Bound. Fine.

We are a well-established, well-respected dealer that is professional, honest, and ethical in our business dealings. We tend to describe each book in a reserved, conservative manner, rather than oversell a book or sidestep the responsibility of addressing its flaws.
