The facq.org biography of Skoda says: "In 1839, Skoda published his treatise on percussion and auscultation. In it he attempts to classify the sounds in the chest according to categories that take into account musical pitch and tonality, with alternations from full to hollow, clear to dull, tympanitic to muffled, and high to deep. German language hymnal and devotional book from early 19th century, written by the theologian Dr. Laurent David Bollhagen. Engravings on the front and back leather cover are worn but still clearly visible. Front cover engraved with owner's initials "A.R.", back cover with year of ownership, "1838.". Inside front endpaper contains short written timeline of names and dates on both sides. Green ribbon bookmark worn but still attached. Binding especially worn at junctures between spine and covers. Text complete and legible
