The overall aim of these library books to cover all important aspects of the history and development of aviation and space travel. This book deals with escape and evasion as they were lived and accomplished by combat airmen of many nationalities from WWI to the Cold War of the 1960s and the most hair-raising incidents of E&E are in this volume. The history of E&E is a old as war itself, but for combat airmen it is a go it alone thing once out of their airplane. The accompanying artwork gives the reader a understanding of the "gambler's choice" airmen take to first escape, but then to evade the enemy as well. A clean very presentable reading copy.
