Chatto & Windus,, 1877. 8vo., First English Illustrated Edition, with title-vignette and very numerous engraved illustrations in the text, free endpapers and first few leaves lightly spotted; original decorative dark red cloth, upper board and backstrip elaborately blocked in black and lettered in gilt, black endpapers, one gathering (T) loose, fore-edges very lightly spotted else an unusually well-preserved bright, clean copy in wholly unrestored original binding. With 32pp publisher's catalogue (February 1882) bound in at end.The majority of the illustrations are by True Williams. Bright, crisp copy of a scarce issue.
