First edition. 10 hand-coloured plates by Gustave Dore with tissue guards. 8vo (9 7/8 x 7 3/8 inches), 47-pages, original blindstamped blue cloth pictorially illustrated in gilt. Lacking 60% of backstrip, remaining backstrip detached at lower joint, some rubbing of corners, some light foxing within. The boards good, internally very sound. Rare.Inscribed " Charles Morgan with Grandfathers Love, Xmas, 1865" on front fly.
