The classic story follows a poor orphan, who is raised in a workhouse and escapes to London where he meets a gang of juvenile pickpockets. Written by Charles Dickens, an English novelist and social critic who created some of the world's best-known fictional characters, and is regarded as one of the greatest novelist of the Victorian era.
