About This Item
New York: The Modern Library, 1968. Hardcover. 8vo. Brown cloth with gilt spine lettering, dust jacket. (8pp), 548pp, xii. 4 maps. Very good/near fine. Top page edges rather spotted. Quite tight and nice early printing of Modern Library Giant #G64 of the popular and influential 1952 cradle-to-grave biography -- and while the "First Modern Library Edition, September, 1968" slug remains on copyright page, the binding and jacket date this printing to mid-1980s. Interesting Lincoln-theme bookplate of "Dickelman's Lincoln Room" on front pastedown.
