About This Item
Leipzig und Brussel: Breitkopf & Hartel, 1865. First Edition - 1867 Printing . Sheet Music. Good. 9.5" X 12.5. B&H plate # 10817. The German composer Woldemar Bargiel (1828-97) was Clara Schumann's half-brother and the teacher of Leopold Godowsky. He served as co-editor with Johannes Brahms of complete editions of Robert Schumann and Chopin. (These untitled piano pieces, the set completed in 1866, are elsewhere designated as "fantasy-pieces".) Tempo indications: Allegro con grazia, Andante con moto, Presto, Lento, Allegretto-un poco Allegro, Allegro commodo, Andante sostenuto, and Con moto grazioso. 25 pages. CONDITION: This score is in Very Good condition in its current (unbound) state, but I've graded it only as "Good" because a thin portion of its edges (likely having had substantial shelf-wear) has been neatly trimmed - though without loss of text or notation information. The covers and score pages are bright and uncreased, compromised only by light pencil markings on several of the pages. This rarity is now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board.
