Lawyers, Gangsters, and ordinary criminals who traveled considered this a useful reference. The advertisements for their services stress criminal, divorce, as well as civil and insurance issues firms dealt with. From Argus Investigation in Israel to those in Australia and Brazil and India are listed as well as everywhere in Europe. Those in California (27 pages) emphasized listening devices, two-way radio, basic surveillance of several started at $5.50 an hour. Reading the ads tell you that tailing a wandering spouse was a major source of business. Many ads for electronic eavesdropping equipment. The names of the agencies are interesting: Big Brother Detectives of Columbus, Georgia to Mary Ross Detective Agency of Los Angeles to Hindenberg International of Berlin. Some toning or soiling to edges of wraps.
