1743. Original manuscript. Very Good. One page, folio, 42 lines written in sepia ink on laid paper. In part: "...I Joseph Carew of Norwich in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in Consideration of the Sum of four Hundred pounds in True Bills of Credit...Convey and Confirm unto him...Eighty Rods of Land in sd. Norwich which I bought of Palmer Carew... [detailed parameters follow] ... [signed] Joseph Carew. Wax seal. [Witnessed by] Isaac Huntington and Joseph Barker. [Certified by] Isaac Huntington, Justice [of the Peace]." Lower corner torn away. Docketed on verso by Isaac Huntington, Town Clerk. Dated 14 July 1743. Joseph Carew (1793-1747) was married to Mary Carew (nee Huntington). They parented Revolutionary War Captain Simeon Carew, etc. Isaac Huntington (1688-1764), a weaver, also served as a justice of the peace. As a representative to the Connecticut General Assembly, he served on several committees dealing with Indian affairs.
