The book presents the history of the São Paulo (Brazilian) Railway Company through the analysis of the architecture of their train stations constructed by engineer William J. Sheldon and architects Charles Henri Driver and Victor Duburgas. These buildings, considered technological architecture patrimony were inspired in the metallic structures of the Victorian British railway stations designed during the Industrial Revolution and are part of the extensive 19th century railroad net through the mountains that transported the agricultural production from a region once isolated.
