About the author

Books constantly fed Steve Hulsey's developing imagination during his early childhood in rural Alabama. Though his first attempt to write a novel (at age six) was unsuccessful, his love of reading and writing and desires for adventure and worldwide travel lured him into the U.S. Navy. Sea duty on destroyers took him to foreign ports in the Caribbean, Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Black Seas. High scores on a college equivalency examination encouraged him to earn his B.S. degree in Journalism from the University of Florida after returning to civilian life. He added a Master's of Public Administration degree from the University of South Florida while building careers in Public Relations and Human Resources. Meanwhile, nonfiction articles, newspaper features, and short stories appeared under his byline in a variety of periodicals. He added a nonfiction police officer recruiting book and an adult suspense novel to his published works. Now retired from a large law enforcement agency, he resides in Central Florida with two large bulldogs and continues writing fiction. He is a member of the Florida Writer's Association, the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators, and participates in two writers' critiquing groups.
