About the author

Margaret R. Miles is Emeritus Professor of Historical Theology at the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley. As Bussey Professor of Theology, she taught the history of Christian thought for 20 years at Harvard University Divinity School. Her previous books include Plotinus on Body and Beauty (Blackwell, 1999), Reading for Life (1996), Seeing and Believing (1996), Desire and Delight (1993), Practicing Christianity (1988), and Carnal Knowing (1988).

Also includes a CD which includes over 150 visual aids and examples as discussed in the text. 435 pages, with Index, Bibliography, and several maps. 6-7/8" X 9-7/8". This is the UK edition. The CD is stored within a plastic envelope attached to the back cover, it has not been opened, still enclosed within the envelope and unused. Very sturdy glossy coated stock hardcover boards, illustrated cover boards. No dust jacket - though it most likely was not issued with one. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Edges of the text block are clean. Binding is tight and square. The cover boards are flat, only wear to report on the cover is a tiny amount of wear to the very tips of the bottom right corners - see photos.
