'An account of the Burns Lake B.C. area homesteaders between the two great wars. During this period 'Stump Farms', so called because stumps seemed to be the only thing that could be grown, were carved out of the wilderness. The soils were not rich and to supplement their agriculture the homesteaders produced hand hewn ties from the Grand Trunk Railway. The book has an easy-flowing humorous style and is well illustrated with photographs from the authors private collection.' Illustrated. 148 pages..

Green leatherette with blindstamped titling to front, gilt titling to spine, many black and white photographs, 148 pages. Some edge wear, a few brown spots to top of textblock edge, the name Eileen is written onto title page, light age darkening. Dust jacket shows edge and shelf wear with closed tears, missing chips, some creasing and two black stains. Besides the flaws it is bright and tight copy of a fascinating time period in British Columbia. Shipping charges are calculated for a standard parcel under 1 kg.
