This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition 'Picasso's Women: Fernande to Jacqueline a Tribute to John Richardson' at the Gagosian Gallery in New York from May 3 to June 29, 2019. John Richardson (1924- 2019) an art historian and intimate friend of Picasso and his wives and children, had recently passed away in March of 2019. The exhibition explored one of Richardson's favorite themes: how Picasso's portraits of his women, wives, mistresses and friends, illuminated his art and his creative process in general.
