About the author

Alison Jeffriesis currently a lecturer in politics at Royal Holloway, University of London. Previously she held posts at Edinburgh University and as Fellow and Tutor in Politics at Magdalen College, Oxford. Her academic interests center on issues in gender and in political theory, and in particular in the relationship between political ideology and public policy. She has published articles on women in British political thought and is working on a book entitled Parents, Children and Citizenship in Britain and the U.S.Alison Jeffriesis currently a lecturer in politics at Royal Holloway, University of London.
