Oleg Grabar is Professor in the School of Historical Studies at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and was for many years Aga Khan Professor of Islamic Art at Harvard University. His books include The Alhambra (Penguin) and The Mediation of Ornament (Princeton, Mellon Lectures).
