About the author

Barbara Omolade has been an activist and educator for over 25 years. She is a single mother of four children. Her career includes work in the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and in the women's movement as coordinator of a battered women's shelter. For the past 11 years, she has worked as a counselor, administrator, and faculty member at the City College, Center for Worker Education in New York.
