Description:
Very little wear, looks as though it has never been read. Other than age-related discoloration to the cover, one might be able to call it almost like new. However, I remember the role of computers in the early 1970s, and today is a whole different world. This book is probably of more use as a historical reference and might provide some interest in determining just how close they got with their predictions. The very first sentence, "...the number of computers in use in the United States has increased from around 100 in 1955 to close to 60,000 today,...", is almost comedic when looked at from today's standards where there are dozens of computers per household, in such mundane things as televisions, smart speakers, fit bits, refrigerators, and doorbells. If you want a historical perspective on how far computers have gone in just fifty years, this may be the book for you. This appears to be a rather rare book.
