London: Harper, 1902. First Edition. Hard Cover. First UK Edition. Publisher's red boards, black titles and line drawings on front cover and spine, gold spinal titles. Boards dust-dulled, darkened with age but NO FADING to spine whatsoever. Front hinge firm but just starting. Corners and tips of spine rubbed with a tiny pin prick hole along the gutter, literally 1mm X 1mm. Previous owner's name ink stamped on pastedown side of FEP with the front free end-paper and rear free end-paper heavily age-toned. Contents unaffected though, a VG copy. N.B: contains the first appearance of The Monkey's Paw, one of the most reprinted supernatural short stories and adapted 'The Monkey's Paw', widely acclaimed as one of the finest horror short stories ever written. The story has been filmed and televised numerous times. Photographs/scans available upon request.
