Covers scuffed with worn corners. This is the edition of 1821, with a new title-page only. Hills 455. A very good early American Bible.

A nicely bound miniature containing Bible readings.

Contents: v. 1. 1669-1689. -- v. 2. 1689-1709. -- v. 3. 1709-1719. Vol. 3 contains an index and several appendices with biographical information about Lincolnshire Quakers who are mentioned in the minutes, as well as information about contemporary matters referred to in the minutes. The volumes cover a critical period in the history of Quakerism. In Very Good Condition: light soiling at head of spines; spine of vol. 2 is sunned; cover of vol. 2 is lightly soiled; otherwise all 3 volumes are clean and bright.

Orwigsburg Sept. 6th 1852." The Foreward (Vorrede) by the author is dated "Libanon, März 15, 1836." Very scarce. In Very Good Condition: leather is rubbed; light foxing and browning; a few page corners creased; clean and tight.

Modern dark brown cloth spine with gilt-tooled spine label; original plain boards. Woodcut headpiece on first page of text. Contents: Annalium -- Brevarium. Several former owner's names on preliminary blank leaf, title page, and final blank leaf. Upper corner of front free endpaper removed and replace with plain paper, presumably removing another former owner's name. Marginal notations on a few pages in an old hand. In Very Good+ Condition: light foxing; occasional marginalia; solid.

Frank Fletcher was headmaster of Marlborough College and Cogswell Harrison is thought to be the only son of Edgar Harrison the principal of Cogswell & Harrison, est. 1770 and London's oldest gunmakers.
Cogswell died tragically in an explosion in the company's powder mills and shooting grounds in Colnbrook in 1915.
