Description:
This is a very good copy of the two-volume set. Published by Macmillan in 1906, this is the first American edition. Spine from Vol II is in better condition from that of Vol I (see photos: spine is partially cracked on Vol I). There are signs of wears towards the top and bottom of spines. Date and one note written on inside cover of Vol I in pencil. Vol I is also missing fly leaf and there is a slight tear on title page of Vol I. Other than that, portraits of Lord Randolph are still intact in both volumes. In addition, a letter was found in one of the volumes: signed by Arthur Brentano, Jr. of Brentano's Booksellers and dated April 24, 1946 (concerning a different book). This letter will be included with the volumes at no additional cost.
