First Edition, "First published 1951" blue cloth hardcover book with gilt title and illustration on front board and spine. Spine is sun burned, boards are rubbed and corner bumped (see pics). Hinges, spine, binding, endpapers, text and pages are all in excellent, unmarked condition. (ghost of penciled notes on ffep). A-138

1919 hardcover edition by S.J. Duncan-Clark, a World War Analyst, Correspondent and Editor. This black cloth book has rubbed gilt title on the front board and spine (see Pic). The boards are rubbed but strong. The hinges are good, the pages and endpapers are age toned, but clean and unmarked (with the exception of the previous owner's name stamp on the title page). The color fortis picture is of Gen. Pershing, and has been repaired. This book is believed to be a first edition because the copyright date and printing date are the same. A-2
