Johannesburg, South Africa: SPRO-CAS/RAVAN, 1973 Rare first printing -- includes the censored text excerpts by the poet Mandlenkosi Langa (pgs. 54, 60), which was subsequently blacked out in later printings. Slight browning to glossy pictorial wraps.

Boston, MA: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1908 Limited edition of 750 copies, this is #261. Books have been rebound in half-leather with gilt on spine, marbled endpapers. Frontis illustrations, red ribbon bookmarks, pages are deckle-edged -- some still uncut. Edgewear varies from volume to volume; two volumes (shown in photo) have damage at bottom spine. Overall, a handsome set. 25 volumes, extra postage required.

London: Ernest Nister, 1900 Nister Edition No. 5022. No date, c.1891-1900. Pictorial blue boards, with red spine. B/W line illustration and four decorative color plates, with revolving illustrations. No illustrator credited, but several of the line drawings are signed E.R., P.B.H. Four poems: Round We Go, Bubbles, The Circus, Hurry Up! -- each with a color revolving illustation, consisting of discs with cut-ours that allow the pictures to change colors when turned by hand. White eggs become multi-colored, acrobats' clothes hange, even children turn from brown to white. A final poem, E'envoi, urges children to put the book away "Right up on the shelf, in the proper way, For the dear little elf would come no more If he saw his book on the nurs'ry floor." Slight browning to pages, rubbing to covers. The revolving photos have slight edgewear, one has a very small tear at inside edge. The colors are bright. A charming book

NY: Dial Press, 1928 Lincoln Mac Veagh/Dial Press. Dust jacket is edgeworn with small tears at top spine and tears along lower spine -- now in protective cover. Brown/black Politzer illustration has good color. Jacket has $2.00 price, page ends are browned.

London: Pye Golden Guinea Records, 1960 Record sleeve is signed by Ray Harryhausen on front. VG+/VG+ LP Vinyl Record. Score by Bernard Herrman. Harryhausen is credited with the visual effects.

NASA, 1961 43 charts (out of 44 printed), 22"x 29", with USAF Lunar Reference Mosaic and Lunar Chart Index. Varying degrees of edge wear, sheets have been stored rolled. Printed between 1961-1967. Some of the charts are printed on both sides, Pencil notation on the date and coordinates of the 1969 moon landing in margin on Chart LAC 60. Several other charts have similar notations.

From September 1961 through April 1969 the USAF Aeronautical Chart and Information Center (ACIC) maintained a permanent staff of cartographic visual observers, scientific illustrators and photographers at Lowell Observatory to compile detailed lunar charts from visual and photographic telescopic observations. Viking, 1949 Signed by Arthur Miller. Slight edgewear, soiling to orange hard covers, spine is faded. Previous owner bookplate inside front cover, previous owner name and 1949 date on first endpaper. Small ink blotches in margin on page 45. Endpaper shows the set design by Jo Mielziner.

William Blackwood and Sons, 1877 Sixth Edition. Cabinet Edition.Tan gilt stamped calf with red leather spine labels, marbled edges and endpapers. Nine volumes, Vols 1-7 have Sixth Edition on title page. vol 7 has 1888 date; Vols 8-9 have New Edition on title page, 1888 date. Maps, many of them fold-out. Volume 9 is indexed. Shelfwear, a few scratches, rubbing on leather spines. Bindings are tight. Overall, a very handsome set. Extra postage is required.

Edinburgh: John Grant, 1911 Twelve volumes, rebound in dark brown leather and burgundy cloth with raised bands on spine, gilt lettering and decoration; pink marbled endpapers, pages are rough cut, gilt on top edge.Volume 1 has frontis portrait of Jane Austen; title pages are two-color with JA monogram decoration. Volumes 11 and 12 (Lady Susan, The Watsons, Letters) are the new, revised edition, dated 1912. Volumes 6, 9. 10, 12 have some scarring on spine, fraying at top of spine; Vol 9 has nick on top front corner; Vol 1 has slight crack at front spine. Bindings are good. Overall, a handsome set.

Harper & Brothers, 1871. Brown covers with gilt. Illustrated with 25 engravings, including frontis and map on title page. Edgewear, spine is faded, corner torn off first endpaper, previous owner name on title page. Some of the signature threads have come loose, but binding is still intact. 314 pages, plus publisher's ads.

Visual Research, 2001 2001, limited edition of 500. Minimal wear to book, slight edgewear to slipcase. Includes poster and two promotional postcards, one slightly creased.

"Publication within the context of the research project 'Corporate Typeface,' with the financial support of the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO)". Plastic covered boards.

Ticknor & Company, 1894 Issued in conjunction with the American Architect and Building News. Large folder (13.25" x 16.25") with 30 black and white heliotype plates of the Town Hall, Library, Gate-Lodge and Railway Station. the beige folder is very worn, scuffed, with traces of old water damage, and is missing the ribbons that once secured the plates. The plates themselves are in very good condition, some show slight wear on the edges. No markings. Requires extra postage.

Bernard Quaritch, 1894 Large format (14" x 17"). Red cloth covers with gilt lettering, leather spine and corners. The leather is worn, rubbed; covers are scuffed. Marbled endpapers. Pages are glt on top edges. First blank endpaper is creased, with two light pencil notations. 30 plates with illustrations. Light browning, foxing throughout, the binding is very good. 51 pages. Requires extra postage.

F. W. Dodge Corporation, 1960 Translated by Giuseppina and Mario Salvadori; Preface by Mario Salvaori. Gray cloth hard covers with white and black type on spine. Dust jacket is rubbed, edgeworn with small tears; $6.95 price. Previous owner name inside front cover. Slight soiling to page ends, book is slightly cocked. First published in Italy in 1957, this edition has had additional photos added.
