This Limited Edition Book was published by Westinghouse to accompany the internment of the Time Capsule which they had prepared to be buried in conjunction with the New York World's Fair of 1939.It gives details for the preparation of the capsule, directions for its recovery, the contents of the capsule, a Key To the English Language so that generations far in the future who are unfamiliar with English may decipher the code to its location, and a guide to seeking metallic substances underground.Being sold with this book is another, a small paperback also published by Westinghouse, titled "The Story of the Time Capsule". It encompasses What the Project Means, How the Time Capsule Was Constructed, What it Contains, How it Will Be Protected Against Vandalism, and How Word of Its Location Has Been Left For the Future. These fifteen volumes are bound in 3/4 leather (leather on the spines and cover corners) with marbled covers and marbled endsheets. The books are in good condition, with some showing slight wear on the edges. All of the volumes contain several illustrations. There is no publication date in the books. However, the binding is indicative of the 1880's. This book is bound with leather covers and a cloth spine. There is a label on the front cover which is not readable. New endsheets have been added at some point in the book's long history, but the original endsheets and covers are present. There is a former owner's inscription on the original front endsheet. Pages are intact and the binding is tight. The book contains black & white drawings of muscles, bones, and bandages. There is an index for medicines and an extensive table of contents of body parts, diseases, syndromes, and treatments. Printed in the year 1846, the book itself is, in essence, a time capsule that portrays how medicine was practiced aboard an early nineteenth century sailing ship. This will make a wonderful addition to the library of the collector of medical memorabilia.

This rare book from the year 1675 has been professionally rebound in tan leather with the title in gold on the cover, with gold decor on the spine, and with gilded corners. The marbled endsheets are also not original. There are a few very old margin notations.The entire text of the book is original and complete. and in Good Condition, while the binding is in Very Good Condition. On the leading page edges the words "Charles of London" are embossed, and this, too, appears to be original.This is a unique item and will make a fine addition to the library of the British historian.

Paradise Lost was originally published in the year 1667. Early editions such as the one being offered here are very scarce and valuable. This fifteenth edition from 1738 is completely original inside and out. The leather covers show some scuffing, and the gold decor on both front and back covers is still good. There is a former owner's name on the front endsheet, and a few pages have some edge spots. The binding is tight, and the book is mostly as it was when it was published almost three centuries ago.This will make a fine and unique addition to your library of classic literature.

This is a 7th printing of the 1st edition by Chilton Book Company from 1965. There were nine such printings of that 1st edition. The book is in Fine Condition. The dustjacket is in Good Condition with slight edge wear and the price clipped from the upper corner. Frank Herbert has autographed the title page. Ruth Michaels was a showgirl, actress, dancer, and model in the early 1900's. This 8 inch by 10 inch black and white photo of her is an extremely rare item.
On the back of the photo, Ms. Michaels has written her name, address, and phone number.
