London: Parlophone / EMI Records Limited, 1973. lp_record. Very Good. Vinyl LP. PCS 3062. 1973 reissue, black and silver labels. All lp's cleaned and played. Any sticks and skips will be noted. The Beatles fourth studio album. Released in the US as Beatles 65. Light wear to outer sleeve, with the original inner sleeve. Vinyl is very clean and fresh looking, no visible scratches, plays great with no sticks or skips or loud buzzes. This is the circa 1973 issue with the "Type 3" silver on black Parlophone label. It starts with "EMI Records Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer..." and ends with "Made in GT BRITAIN" all in caps around the perimeter of the label. Cut number 7 on side 1 is still listed as Kansas City (Lieber-Stoller) The "Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey" Medley credit does yet appear on the label. The illustration inside the gatefold sleeve anticipates Sgt. Pepper without the group's costumes. This album represents a significant shift in direction "The songs introduced darker musical moods and more introspective lyrics, with John Lennon adopting an autobiographical perspective in compositions such as "I'm a Loser" and "No Reply". The album also reflected the twin influences of country music and Bob Dylan, whom the Beatles met in New York in August 1964."
