London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1928. A 1928 second edition hardcover, with an unclipped, illustrated dust jacket. The DJ displays wear to all areas, including torn and worn edges, water marks to rear and to inside, and a tanned spine. Board edges are sunned and lightly worn, with bumped lower corners. Includes gilt decoration to front board and gilt lettering to spine as well as illustrated endpapers and many illustrations internally. Final few pages are lightly creased and there is a slight hinge break at pages 84 & 101. Pages and text are clear and bright, with no obvious marks or annotations. CN. First Edition, Second Impression. Hardcover. Very Good/Acceptable. Illus. by Shepard, Ernest H.. Used.
Synopsis
The House at Pooh Corner (1928) is the second volume of stories about Winnie-the-Pooh, written by A. A. Milne and illustrated by E. H. Shepard. It is notable for the introduction of the character Tigger, who went on to become a prominent figure in the Disney Winnie the Pooh franchise. The title comes from a story in which Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet build a house for Eeyore. In another story the game of Poohsticks is invented.
