This work comprises a thorough account of London's social scene and arts through the eighteenth century.Written by Edwin Beresford Chancellor (1868-1938), an English author remembered for his works on London's history, with his works including 'Historical Richmond', 'The History of the Squares of London', 'The Annals of Fleet Street', 'The London of Charles Dickens' and 'The West End of Yesterday and Today'.Illustrated with photographs and engravings, and with a full frontispiece in colour.Complete with a scarce, clipped dust wrapper. In the publisher's original full cloth binding with a clipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart, with a little bumping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine. Dust wrapper is sunned to the spine, with slight chipping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, generally firmly bound, with a touch of straining after the front endpaper but remaining firm. Pages are bright and clean with just the odd spot. Very Good Indeed
