Book This is a highly collectible copy of the first of the Little Golden Books bound in the original blue cloth spine and in its dust jacket as issued. This is a 5th printing in July 1943. The back cover is Style #2.1 â "The Little Golden Library" title with a numbered list to #16. Size: 7.5"-8" - Small Octavo (Sm. 8vo). 42 pages. Item Type: Book. Text block is tight and unmarked, though a little toned from age. Solid blue spine over heavy paper-covered cardboard. The book it close to fine condition with the only defect the name of the child in an adult hand (with the name of the aunt who gave him the book as a gift). The boards are in excellent condition with sharp corners and a small bit of paper loss on the rear cover at the bottom edge. No foxing in this copy. The price-clipped dust jacket has a small bit of wear at the head of the spine and a 3/8" closed tear in the center of the bottom edge, which has resulted in a light diagonal fold line from the top of the edge to almost the foot of the outside fold.
