An uncommon, first edition of this biographical work presenting the life of American professional boxer, "Terrible Terry" McGovern. First edition. Bound in the publisher's original pictorial wraps. This biographical work surrounds the life and battles of American boxer, Terry McGovern, who was known as "Terrible Terry", the Brooklyn Terror. Managed by Sam Harris, McGovern held the World Bantamweight and Featherweight Championships, with the majority of his wins being due to the astonishing power of his knockout punch.Written by American author, Nat Fleischer, who was known for his fervent interest in American boxing.Illustrated with a number of vignettes throughout. Bound in the publisher's original pictorial wraps. Externally, excellent, with light shelf wear and a little rubbing to the spine. Slight sunning to the spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with an ink inscription dated 1944 to the verso of the title page and the occasional phrase underlined by a previous owner. Very Good Indeed
