New York: The MacMillan Company, 1923. Second printing. Hardcover. 637pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Blue cloth with gilt bands and title on the backstrip, and embossed bands on the front cover. Very good. The spine ends and edges of the covers are gently bumped and rubbed. Light spotting to head of rear board. The top edge of the text block is darkened and subtly stained. The text block is only just beginning to crack in a couple of places. The book is sturdy. Illustrated. Flake/Draper 4959. Howes L366. From the Preface- "The object of the present work is to present a consecutive history of the Mormons, from the day of their origin to the present writing, and as secular, not as a religious, narrative.
