Illustrated with covers the early writers such as Bartolome de las Casas through the historians of the conquest of Peru, Chilean History and the expulsion of the Jesuits. Illustrations of many of the main South American literary figures of the early period as well as full page pictures of rare documents and books. Probably the best handy guide to the early history of South America. Bound in light brown flexible cloth lettered in red, spine lettering red, all edges red, minor fraying to spine ends. A very good copy.
