Macmillan, 1906. Early printing. 8vo. Full red polished calf boards with raised bands and bottle green spine label. Decorative floral spine compartments. Gilt gadrooned board edges. Decorative trailing floral turn ins. Marbled edges & endpapers. A near fine copy with no chipping or splitting to boards. Some superficial rubbing to spine label. Internally clean and complete. Ink inscription to blank endpaper dated 1918. Very clean and fresh leaves with sharp corners. A very attractive copy. The second of Kipling's two part Classic.
Synopsis
The Second Jungle Book is a sequel to The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. First published in 1895, it features five stories about Mowgli and three unrelated stories, all but one set in India, most of which Kipling wrote while living in Vermont. All of the stories were previously published in magazines in 1894-5, often under different titles.
