First US edition of these collected detective stories, with a nine-page miniature Sherlock Holmes pastiche embedded in the author's introduction. 7.5'' x 5''. Original tan pictorial cloth with mounted black and white illustration. 341, [1] pages. Though no provenance markings, this copy from the library of noted actor and Sherlockian Curtis Armstrong. Previous owner's name in pen to front and rear paste-downs. Faint mild to moderate dampstaining throughout, hinge cracked at title page gutter (holding). Some edgewear and soil to boards. Spine sunned.
