From my personal library collection. Vol 1 is a Near Fine copy, the vinyl cover has left sticky residue. From the Foreword: "This book on the general subject of German pistols was prepared in an attempt to fill a need of the arms collector and student for a woek containing the various makes and models of pistols that were procured for the many German organizations during the Hitler era." 223 pp, many photos and specifications of the various arms in both Vols 1 and 2. Volume 3 has photos and details about holsters. Volume 4 is a list of various items issued to different parts of the Reich. Vols 2, and 4 are Fine, no tears, chips, foxing, etc. Volume 3 is Near Fine with three small spots on the outside of the front board. All are Limited Editions with #1276 of 2000, 333, 363, and874 being the numbers of the respective volumes. This is a scarce and hard set to complete, very valuable for serious collectors. A few pages at the front of the text affected by light foxing but overall a very good clean copy in a fine early leather binding by Austin & Sons Ltd, with their ticket pasted inside back cover. Full red calf, lavish gilt decoration to spine, leather title label in gilt, both boards with gilt ruling/ board edges and inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers, silk head and tailbands. College emblem to front board, in gilt. Marbled block edges. College prize label inside front cover. A lovely presentation of this interesting book.

Fourteen volumes in original hardcovers. Series 1: volumes 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26. 1896-1914. Generally condition runs from Good to Very Good plus. These are heavy volumes that are prone to binding failures when handled improperly. Some of these volumes are sound, some strengthened with new endpapers, some where binding is starting. None have failed bindings. The earlier volumes show more general wear to the boards than later volumes. I have prepared a more complete condition report on each volume so feel free to inquire. Antiquarian Bookstore stamp on flyleaf. Corner is torn and missing from the front end page and title page beneath. There is a wide piece of binding tape attached to the inside cover, front and back, which looks like it used to hold something. No dj. HC is soiled and worn alongs edges and corners. Edges are bumples. Paper on binding is split inside back cover. Interesting and rare book begins with a history of sanitation in battle from the 13th century and a letter from the Surgeon General's Office September 7, 1862 to the Secretary of War. Several pages have tears along the top edge and some pages have tiny creased corners. Contains PLATE MAPS.
