The author discusses walnut furniture, Chippendale designs, modern polishes, gothic furniture, wood panelling and much more. Written by Herbert Cescinsky, who was known for his similar works on interior designing, such as 'English Furniture of the Eighteenth Century' and 'Early English Furniture & Woodwork'. Profusely illustrated with a frontispiece and numerous in-text illustrations.With a bookplate reading 'Commit thy work to God' to each volume. Bound in a quarter red morocco with cloth to the boards. Externally, lovely, with light bumping to the extremities and a touch of fading to the cloth to volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Bookplate to the first blank. Pages bright and clean. Fine
