VG book, binding tight but has slight forward lean, some light fading to cloth covers with faint hand-shape toning on front panel, internally excellent, in Good edge worn jacket with a few small closed tears, some minor chipped losses to corners and spine ends, gently rubbed with a hint of fading, price-clipped, now preserved in archival jacket protector. Decorative bookplate to front pastedown of Mary Anna Marten (1929-2010), the English aristocrat and landowner who made legal history in the Crichel Down affair . Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1959.
