Original printing of this edition 1873 (available in 3 Paris libraries) and this printing "autre edition" 1870 (available in 15 libraries worldwide).
Beautiful red, yellow and green marbling on outside with navy colored spine and decorative edges; spine includes gold embossing; endpapers in marble design of brown, blue, and cream colors. Tight binding; pages intact. Edging on hardback edges and spine.
Clean pages, no markings; some tanning.
Good condition.
This edition begins with 146 B.C. razing of Carthradge, a turning point in Roman history, and continues with details into the lives and careers of Emperors Caesar, Augustus and Tiberius.
