Published to coincide with the release of the American musical comedy film of the same name, directed by Ernst Lubitsch and starring Maurice Chevalier and Jeannette MacDonald. Count Alfred the military attaché to the Sylvanian Embassy in Paris is ordered home to report to the Queen for a reprimand following a string of scandals. Meanwhile Queen Louise is fed up with her people's preoccupation over who she will marry. Written by Russell Holman. In the original burgundy cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor rubbing to the extremities. Front joint is starting but firm. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light shelf wear and chipping to the extremities. Sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with light age toning. Very Good
