A smart first edition, first impression of this historical novel by the "Prince of Romance" Stanley Weyman. The first edition, first impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Stanley Weyman (1855-1928) was a historical romance novelist, sometimes referred to as the "Prince of Romance". His most popular works were set in late 16th and early 17th-century France. His writing was admired by notable authors such as Robert Louis Stevenson, Oscar Wilde and Graham Greene. The Long Night (1903) is set in sixteenth-century Geneva, during the conflict with the Dukes of Savoy. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart and bright, with faint marks to the boards and a little bumping to the extremities. Gilt remains bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed
