About This Item
West Stockbridge, MA: Hard Press, 1998. First printing. 221 pp., 6 x 9 inches. Perfect-bound in printed card covers. Inscribed by the author. Mild creases to lower corner of first blank page and back cover, otherwise essentially as new.
The first edition of the authors influential debut novel, which was brought back into print first by the University of Wisconsin Press in 2004, and again by Semiotext(e) in 2021. Bellamy revives a minor character from Bram Stokers Dracula and imagines her as an independent woman living in San Francisco in the 1980s. This copy is warmly inscribed by the author to artist Fran Herndon (You've been an inspiration), a close friend and associate through Frans long working relationship with Bellamys partner Kevin Killian.
Scarce in this edition, and especially so signed.
