About This Item

Published by Ian Allan Publishing, 2009. 1st thus edition.. Paperback. Nearly Fine. Nearly fine condition. The 'Leader' class of steam locomotives was one of the most controversial projects in the history of Britain's railways. Designed by Oliver Bulleid originally for the Southern Railway, the prototype was not completed until after Nationalisation and the project was abandoned under the new regime amidst a welter of negative publicity. This is the cardwrap version published two years after the hardback came out. Pictorial cardwraps. B/w photos. Light crease to front cover and some light creasing. Else a lovely copy.
