Sitting Bull led his tribesmen in defiance of U.S. Government forces for 25 years in the northern high plains of the U.S. and Canada. With two sections of plates bearing black & white photos & drawings of people and scenes described in the book. Also with numerous maps. --- In orange paper-covered boards backed in brown cloth, with copper foil spine titling. Volume wrapped in dust jacket with painted portrait of Sitting Bull to front panel. --- With inked gift inscription to half title page and a little dulling to spine titling, else a sound, tightly-bound, unmarked copy. Unpriced, unclipped jacket with small tears & chips along edges, otherwise intact, bright and wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; Tall Octavo - 9 to 10 in. tall; xvii, 413 pages .
