An intimate narrative of the life of one of the most popular boxers in history, William Harrison "Jack" Dempsey, American professional boxer who competed from 1914 to 1927, and reigned as the world heavyweight champion from 1919 to 1926. He soon became a cultural icon of the 1920s with fans excited by his aggressive fighting style and exceptional punching power. Written by Nathaniel Stanley Fleischer, a noted American boxing writer and collector. In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear and chipping to the extremities. The odd small closed tear. Light sunning to the spine and the odd small mark to the panels. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
